You're Invited to Become One of Us

H O M E

If you believe in the politics of courtesy and kindness, tolerance, magnanimity, community spirit, the defense of the weak against the powerful, love of learning, the freedom of belief, art, and poetry, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.

If you believe in equal rights for all citizens, women as well as men, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.  Equality is Democratic bedrock.  We Democrats are inclusive and integrationist to the core.  In the Democratic Party you can be yourself.

If you believe in individualism, if you believe that social class or religion or political party or race or nationality do not tell the story of who you are and what you’re about, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.

If the sexual lives of your neighbors are not of profound interest to you, and if hunger, homelessness, healthcare, and the staples of middle-class life get your attention more than the thought of two people of the same gender sleeping in the same bed, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.

If you believe in the value of education and equal educational opportunity for all, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.  Democrats are diehard teachers.  Education is a heroic task and it’s the answer to just about anything.  The Peace Corps was pure Democratic idealism.  Education is an expensive proposition, but there’s no choice.  Nobody is born smart and we need good schools.

If you believe in poison-free communities where we have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink, where you can eat the fish taken from the lakes and streams, and you believe that those who poison our air and our water should be held accountable and at the very least have to pay to clean them up, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.

If you believe in preserving a healthy natural heritage for our grandchildren and their grandchildren to enjoy and in helping to protect the environment in which they will live, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.

If you believe in public and private security and the right of citizens to obtain redress in the courts for the abuses of the rich and the powerful and those who hide behind corporate shields for personal gain, you would find a welcome in the Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village.

If you'd like for someone to get in touch with you to sit down for a personal visit, just email us.  Tell us a little about yourself and we'll try to link you with someone who's congenial and compatible.

Dues:

Annual dues are $15.00 for one or $25.00 for a couple.  Be aware that we don't "charge single people more": $10.00 of the dues goes into the general treasury; $5.00 goes to pay for the newsletter.  A single member pays $10.00 into the treasury and $5.00 for one newsletter: $10.00 + $5.00 = $15.00.  A couple pays $10.00 each into the treasury and $5.00 for one newsletter: $10.00 + $10.00 = $20.00 + $5.00 = $25.00.  Everyone is paying the same, but a couple gets to share one newsletter.  Checks may be mailed to the club, Democratic Club of Hot Springs Village, at P.O. Box 8693, Hot Springs, AR 71910.
