Meetings:
The club meets quarterly for information and social interaction, to conduct club business, and to provide a forum for elected officials, candidates, and others with appropriate messages for the group. Meetings typically are held on a Friday in January, May, and July at Coronado Center at 4:00-6:00 p.m.; "Oktoberfest" meets at Coronado Center on a Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with political speeches at 11:00 and lunch following. See the Activities page for specific dates.
Refreshments are provided at these meetings on a pay-as-you-go basis; they are not paid for from the club's treasury.
Visitors are welcome at the meetings, especially those who may have an interest in becoming an active part of our group. We are especially happy to entertain visitors when we have notable speakers to address us. We don't "check membership cards."
Committees:
The club has three standing committees:
Communications
Membership
Publicity
Communications Committee: Dottie Foehringer
Membership Committee: Brenda Tirrell
Membership Committee: (Vacant)
Volunteer Coordinator: Shirley Johnson
Publicity: Elaine Voda
Newsletter: Jean Almore
Special committees may be appointed by the board to serve for a specified term.
Dues:
Annual dues are $15.00 for one or $25.00 for a couple. Be aware that we don't "charge single people more": $10.00 of the dues goes into the general treasury; $5.00 goes to pay for the newsletter. A single member pays $10.00 into the treasury and $5.00 for one newsletter: $10.00 + $5.00 = $15.00. A couple pays $10.00 each into the treasury and $5.00 for one newsletter: $10.00 + $10.00 = $20.00 + $5.00 = $25.00. Everyone is paying the same, but a couple gets to share one newsletter. Checks may be mailed to the club at P.O. Box 8693, Hot Springs, AR 71910.
The membership year runs January 1 -
December 31. People who join the club during the year pay dues on a
pro-rata basis:
January- March……………$15 single…………….$25 couple
April- June……………… $11 single…………….$19 couple
July- December………….. $8 single…………….$13 couple
